Adoption/Foster Care And The Church

The information below was copied from I Care About Orphans. 

This is a partial list of the number of children needing to be adopted from foster care in each state, vs. the number of churches in each state.

Think about it this way. Those children needing adopted through foster care state system could ALL be adopted if just ONE family, simply 1 FAMILY, from a local church would adopt them. This is amazing! What a testimony if believers who took the Bible seriously, eliminated (state) orphans in America! 

Think about how huge that is! It sure would be all over the news! 

I just saw this list & read these numbers, posted about it immediately. Spread this vision!

Proverbs 24:12 tells us that Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know and holds us responsible to act.

It's not my responsibility or 'problem'...

How do you respond to someone who feels this way about orphans, widows & the needy?

If they are a believe share with them that THEY are adopted! Here are some verses to share with them:

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. Ephesians 1:4-6

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress... James 1:27

Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… rescue those being led away to death… Proverbs 31:8a & 24:11a

We know God treasures each precious life from many verses in the Bible! Here are some examples:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are 

wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap 

nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not 

worth much more than they?... But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, 

and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:26 & 33

Now if you have read the above verses God holds you 


responsible to act! He gave us the privilege to serve, 

to give, to adopt, to minister to others in need!!

God doesn't call everyone to adopt, but He does call 

everyone to care for orphans.

What an exciting ministry to be a part of! To equip these beautiful children of God to be mothers, ministers, missionaries... to spread the gospel of GOOD NEWS through equipping them to spread the gospel !!   

My mind, as a midwife, goes immediately to wishing for a maternity home & birth center for these girls & ladies!! From the 1st video it sounds like they have apartments set up for the mamas. I want too love on them, care for them, mother them, nurture them, so they in turn can learn to nurture their babies.
